Ah, finally, the calm after the storm. The painting above was started the evening of the first big flash flood last May. I had a feeling of hopefulness and a vision of healing as I painted it. Yellow is the color of healing in feng shui and I had spent 2 hours pouring over some books on the subject before beginning this piece. It had an impact. There is also a back story about a friend from the Chicagoland area and the exchange of yellow flowers as a gift for healing over the years and across the miles. If you'd like to hear the entire story some time, I would be happy to tell you. And, if you look closely, you'll see the loving hearts I slipped into the foliage.

I can relate with the writer because I also draw whenever I’m sad or happy. For me, drawing is my passion and my way of escaping the harsh reality. When I saw the yellow flower that was drawn and attached in this article, I’m reminded of my favorite flower, the sunflower. I immediately smiled and it lifted my spirits up. Also, my favorite color is yellow and I believe that it describes me as a person. Most of the days, I am happy and I make sure to provide happiness and joy to those people who need it. I hope that we can always be happy and encourage each other to spread the love to the world to heal them of the pain that they’ve experienced in the past.
