Shame on me for taking 10 months to update this blog. There's an old saying about "When Life Gets in the Way..." But, the reality is that chaos has taken over and my priorities are askew. My disabled son moved in a couple of years ago and while I am grateful that he is alive and that I have this opportunity to help him I have, in the process, dropped the ball on my own Life. There is really never any excuse for that. So, while I can give you a list of fires I have been putting out, the Truth is that I have neglected the beautiful Life the Creator gave me while taking on numerous (and not delegating) tasks and thereby have neglected You, the viewer and art lover. Without further explaination, here are a couple of updates you might be interested to learn about:
Diva the Labrador Retriever
Over the course of the early summer, I completed a portrait of a beloved pet belonging to someone that used to go to our local church. She has since moved up north and the portrait has been shipped and is hanging on the wall of her new home. She says she is very happy with it. Let me know what you think!
If you like this portrait and would like one (or more) of your own beloved fur-friend, just let me know. Prices run anywhere from 50.00 to 150.00 unframed for an 8"x10" on paper and 150.00 to 250.00 framed. Prices go up for paintings, larger sizes on paper, collages and digital mixed media work. I wanted to show the portait of Diva the Labrador Retriever both before and after framing to give you an idea of how that might look for you.
More Designs on my VIDA Online Store
So, I may have neglected blogging, but I have somehow managed to continue being creative in the last several months. One of the things I have really enjoyed is bringing a new digital design to my VIDA store that I call Midnight Desert Flowers.
If you've been on my VIDA store and followed me on social media for awhile, you may remember that last summer I decided to only showcase products made in the U.S.A., because the products that were outsourced took too long to get manufactured and then shipped to clients. After all, none of the products are created until you order them. This prevents waste and insures that VIDA can provide jobs as well as learning opportunities to those folks that work in far away places. However, this year I broke that practice. Why? Because, some items that are produced overseas are of such superior quality that, well, I wanted them! Here are a list of three of my personal favorites...
