Can a person ever have too much art in their lives? Apparently not for me. I was a happy girl this weekend attending three different art events 4 times over 3 days.
The fun started Friday night at The Woodlands Art League (WAL) holiday party. I was told to bring food and a beverage, but really did not know what to expect since I am a new member. I arrived early and was a bit confused. Several people were setting up long tables for art projects which was not what I was expecting at all. By 7:00p. they put us to work and the party was in full swing with tons of food, conversation, music and about 50 people working on projects together. A good time was had by all! Saturday night and Sunday morning saw me at the Holiday Market and artists reception at Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Church (NUUC). I have a couple of artworks in their gallery and, in addition to wall art, there were tables set up with handmade gifts for sale. My son and I purchased some lovely ceramics pieces for gifting our friends and family.
The show will be up in the gallery through the holidays and into the New Year. Stop by and say hello some Sunday. They have a wonderful folk choir during services from 10:30a. - 11:30a.

Saturday I opened my email and was surprised to see an invite to from The Bella Bottega. I signed up for their emails a long time ago, but this is the first one I've received. Champagne, chocolate and an open studio art walk on Sunday afternoon were promised, so after leaving Northwoods I grabbed some lunch and drove over.
There are several adorable tiny houses on this property housing artist studios and a little gallery. I was sleep deprived and pumped up on chocolate, so I talked WAY too much, but everyone was so nice despite my over enthusiasm (thanks guys!). It turns out that I know some of the artists there already and really enjoyed the visit.
If you would like to see some quality fine art in a comfortable setting, it is well worth the drive. You might even get to see the artists themselves working in their studios.

There really is a lot of art in this area if you know where to look. Support your local artists. You'll be glad you did! :-D
